Join us in the kitchen to prepare and serve meals onsite alongside the shelter chef. Ingredients and a menu are provided, and volunteers are invited to contribute to the cost of the meal to provide a healthy meal to guests experiencing homelessness.
Gather a group of friends, coworkers, neighbors, or family to assist in preparing, serving and cleaning up after a shared meal. No prior cooking experience is necessary; our staff will guide you through the process. By joining this opportunity, you help provide nutritious meals while affirming the dignity and worth of each individual at the shelter.
Lunch is served promptly at 12 noon and dinner is served promptly at 6:30 P.M.
Additional Notes:
-There is on-site parking and plenty of street parking along 1st Ave and Nicollet Ave. available.
- Please arrive promptly at 10 AM for lunch and 5 PM for dinner
- A max of 6 people per shift.
- All volunteers must be registered for this volunteer opportunity before entering the shelter. Those not registered before will not be allowed in the building. Walk-ins will not be admitted
- Minimum age: 10 years old. Volunteers aged 10-14 require a 1:1 adult to kid ratio in your group.
- Volunteers 15-18 require at least 1 adult over the age of 21.
