Movie at the Belfry: The 13th
Sunday, April 19, 2026, 2:30-5 pm
Location: 3901 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407
As part of the volunteer team’s anti-racism learning series, we will be hosting a movie matinee viewing of the movie “The 13th”
Offered in partnership with the Children and Youth Services team, ‘13th’ explores how the prison system in the US reflects a history of racial inequality and drives the high rate of incarceration in America. The title refers to the Thirteenth Amendment which abolished slavery, however, the film argues an exemption made to this for convicted criminals continues the practice of involuntary servitude. We’ll watch the film and then discuss the lessons learned and how they impact the populations we work with at large.
There’ll also be snacks and drinks!
